Finals were yesterday- any updates?
I am told Julian Gonzalez was the winner and only finalist at this audition. He is a current undergraduate student of Judith LeClair, NY Phil principal bassoonist. Congrats to him!
From what I have heard. The other finalist was Roger Nye current 2nd Bassonist of the NY Phil who was autoadvanced to the finals.
I heard that he didn't end up attending but not sure if accurate
Both Roger and Julian played the finals, which were screened.
