hey I love this forum, but I'm troubled by the amount of hearsay and gossip I'm seeing. Not every pro player wants their management to think they're looking for another job, and not every committee wants to disclose who's in consideration. So please let the audition conclude before speculating with the world what you think might have happened.
Certainly agree with you that it's best to avoid publicly sharing candidates' names until the audition has reached a stage without anonymity in place. But I also think pro players know that when they show up to an audition, word is likely to get out that they are there. It's not really possible to run an audition (with or without screens) in complete secrecy.
honestly, it's not so much the anonymity. I've seen a couple posts on this forum that were inaccurate or speculative. If anyone's naming prominent players (and their orchestras) better make sure the info is correct and public knowledge. The brass world is a small community and word gets around without adding to the rumor mill
This thread should be reported and removed. This is not classy.
