Yes, I've also heard that those three candidates have all been qualified and now must play a short trial to determine which chairs they might be offered. I believe there are 3 vacancies - principal, associate principal, and section
I'm wondering how they handled the qualifications - are some qualified for principal and section or some just for section, or all for every position? In some places where auditions are for titled and non-titled chairs, the qualification process can be a bit complicated. Not saying that's the case here, just wondering how Seattle has done it.
From what I'm hearing, even the three candidates remaining aren't totally sure. Personnel managers aren't always explicit enough when they announce a complicated result like this.
I think it would be reasonable to hope that since the audition was for Principal, all three are qualified for that position and for the other two vacancies as well, so the short trial is meant to determine who will be offered which chair.
If anyone else has a different perspective or further detail, feel free to correct this.
Sayaka principal
Katie assoc
Ursula section
