Want to ask reason why Minnesota splitting committees for their prelim auditions? And for some candidates can be play in the hall but some only can be the a room and even could see the shadow of committees??( not very clear but still could see a bit)

MN is not the only orchestra to do this. I believe Cincinnati does as well. I'm personally not a fan of the practice, as one committee tends to end up conducting a more aggressive prelim than the other. Ironically, the urban myth is that the "hall committee" is usually tougher in most split prelims. Not sure why.
