I am surprised this sort of post doesn't already exist on the forum, but it's such an eyeroll moment when orchestras don't post at least the base salary/per service rate on their audition announcements. How much does the 2nd Flute job in Madison Symphony pay?

Wow great work team, they added the rates in the AFM listing that went up this morning. This squeaky wheel is feeling very smugly satisfied.
It's definitely annoying, and worth contacting the orchestra if it's something you're interested in auditioning for (particularly for wind/brass jobs that may come with different service guarantees/rates). Or bug them about it just to be petty-- that info should be there!
However, if you are an AFM member, almost if not all ICSOM and ROPA orchestras have their wage scales on file on the AFM website under "for members"/"symphonic wage scales". It's not all totally up to date, but it should get you close.
For the Madison Symphony, it lists several per-service rates that I'm not going to try to parse, but says "Avg Annual Income 2nd Chair Wind/Brass: $7,500.00" for 2022-23.
